P.O. charging too much

Just left the post office after having 4 envies returned to me for more postage this past week. Had all 4 weighed and none of them needed the additional 83 cents as they had required. Post master told me to write on the bubble envies.."NON Machineable Letter" or "Hand Cancel Please" and they should not be any more sent back for additional postage.
Had me wondering if my seeds had gained weight this year or what. Not like I was sending walnuts or anything like that. Hopefully this will fix my stamp problem.

Thanks for the info! What were the size of the envelopes you were using?

RE: P.O. charging too much

I've also been getting envelopes returned with postage due notices lately. Some really did need additional postage but others didn't. It seems kind of random as envelopes that I know didn't have sufficient postage have gone thru with no problem and writing hand cancel didn't seem to make a difference for me.

Should also note that the p.o is raising prices. Haven't read too much into it yet because I'm feelin lazy. But, poo!
