I went to the Hy-V store to get jalapenos for my favorite football game snack stuffed with cream cheese and topped with bacon. They were very large and fat with mature seeds. So many times I have been disappointed by peppers that turn out to be Tam or senorita or fooled you or gringo or just too mild even if you chop up and add the veins and deseeded cores. These were very very hot.I am saving these for spring and will share them with you for a trade or sasbe. They also had sunkist brand meyer lemons with big fat viable looking seeds if you want them. I already planted some melissa's brand last year.

I have to make a retraction here. several of the peppers were hardly hot at all and some were almost too hot to stand.Either the grocer mixed them up or they have already been outcrossed enough to ruin the consistency. another dissapointment. Ric

Hey Ric. Many people collect seeds at farm stands and markets. Sometimes they come true and sometimes they don't - they can be hybrid - or not. It's a crap shoot, but some people have started seeds this way and have been happy with the results. You never know. People start with what they like and work with a strain to improve it year by year. If you like the original pepper and don't mind if they come true or not, try a few and see. You may get a good surprise - then again, you may not - it's a genetic mystery.
