Wanted: Plants for clay- long list of wants...

Posted by redchigh_guppy Central Alabama (My Page) on

I found a list of plants that might do well in my soggy backyard. If anyone has any of these (preferably several off the list since shipping is expensive)
I'll send rose hips or anything else on my haves, or gladly an SASE. (maybe both if it's neccesary and you have several things I want)

I'm also looking for the usual things on my list, rosemary,
zuchinni, any hardy shade plants, and anything exotic looking.

Again if you have anything that grows well for you in shade/partial shade soggy wet clay soil, feel free to mention it.
Even if the seeds don't survive to adulthood, they might help break up the soil

Hi redchigh_guppy,

I just wanted to make a little suggestion. It is always best to harvest the seeds from rose hips. That enables one to know exactly how many seeds there are, and the seeds will dry much better with less chance of molding.

I have read of members in the past, receiving in rose seeds that had molded because they had not been properly and thoroughly dried.

Please see Is it acceptable to just send a dried flower head or pod?

Happy Trading!

Yes, sir.

Anyone interested, mention how many seeds you want and I'll sort it out.
