| Wanted: Cumin, Cotton, Sugar Beets, Lemongrass, Field Corn (AKA Dent Corn)
I've never grown Cumin, but I use it a lot in the kitchen. I'd like to be able to grow sugar beets (non-hybrid if possible) and attempt to extract the sugar (just to see if I can do it)... Cotton... again, just to see if I can grow it... I hear lemongrass is great. Field corn, maybe I can use it for feed, or edible means (corn meal, etc.) I'm getting lots of seeds from the garden lately and should have more in the next couple of weeks. I just harvested lots of Florida Broadleaf Mustard seeds (plenty for trade), and also Grand Rapids Lettuce (My favorite) - Also for trading. I will have tobacco seeds soon (Nicotiana tabacum and Nicotiana rustica) once the seed pods dry out. I am also letting lots of onions (Mixed) go to seed and should be ready in just a week or two. I also have seeds in my trade list, which I will be updating soon. Here's a link to my trade list: http://members.gardenweb.com/members/exch/tim_the_gardner?8920 Thanks, Tim |

| It's much easier to start lemongrass from cuttings. If you have an Asian grocery nearby just buy a couple stalks and stick them in a pot of soil or directly in the garden. I've never had one that hasn't rooted as long as it has even a small amont of the base still attached. |
