Amelia_pepper_lady, why wouldn't you eat a pomegranate? :) From my understanding, they should not be let to dry and if you chew on them gently it will help with germination. They also need warm weather to germinate and that should not be a problem at your location. They are fun to grow!

Getting my hands on a pomegranate is the problem. Local stores don't have them. I don't stop at grocery stores in the city.

My grandmother had a large pomegranate tree in her yard. We ate pomegranates all summer long. Wish I could get back there to see if there are any small ones. For all I know, the original tree may still be there.

Hope somebody will send you pomegranate seeds still with the aril. Fresh, chewed seeds were the only ones that sprouted for me. Good luck!
