RE: WANTED: Wanted Amaranth

I have a "Kerala Red" which looks a *lot* like Hopi Red Dye in pictures, but we use it exclusively as a leaf vegetable. I also have one we call "white amaranth" - it's a pure, light green (no anthocyanin production) and very tender, also exclusively a leaf vegetable.

I don't really need a trade. Maybe the everglade tomato if you like it.

RE: WANTED: Wanted Amaranth

I am growing a variety traded to me as chinese spinach or red leaf or Yin Tsai.It is about 4 feet tall and has purple veins radiating from the center of the leaf.It is tender like spinach. I have had to dust it with hot pepper to keep the deer off of it but it is making flowers now. Check with me in a few weeks for seed but keep in mind I also have red hopi, intense purple, and cervantes in the same garden so it may outcross. Ric
