I have two different type of Celmatis I collected in the fall of 2011. They are Jackman Celmatis (Jackmanii Clematis)seeds and Virginia Bower Celmatis (Clematis virginiana) seeds. I am interested in some of your Mexican Primerose seeds and Amaranthus (ponytail ones) seeds.LMK

Hi, I have some Nelly Moser Clematis seeds that I can harvest and send you. It has large pink and white blooms. Very dramatic. I'd love to trade you for your coleus seeds. My new favorite filler plant.
I see some others on your list that I'd be interested in. I'd love to do a larger trade with you if you want. Please check out my list and LMK,
Thanks, Jen

I do not have any clematis seeds for trade this year but i wanted to give you a tip for germinating.
Sow your seeds in a pot 1 inch deep. Place the container in a protected area outside. I use the north facing wall of my garage. Cover the container with leaves. If the seeds are of a cultivator type that can grow from seed, they should germanate without a problam. I have grown 4 types of clematis from seed this way.

Good luck!

I'm not sure that all clematis grows true from seed, especially from cultivars. This is actually how new cultivars are often discovered.

A seed-sowing tip for clematis: don't remove the tails when you plant the seeds. I'm not exactly sure why, but that's what my propagation book says.

I do have some clematis tangutica seeds that I can mail you. They have little yellow bell flowers, and usually bloom the year they are planted, if planted early enough. I'll e-mail you to get your address.

I would love to trade, but I don't have the seeds yet. I have sweet autumn clematis plants that I would be willing to trade or I will have seeds in a couple of weeks. Please let me know.
