WANTED: New to Gardenweb!

Hello all, I just stumbled on this wonderful site, so much great info and friendly folks willing to help other out!

I live in senior housing and have the run of the place to plant flowers, (veggies in specific areas only). I haven't planted anything exotic; Hostas, Marigolds, Bleeding Hearts, Variegated Grass, Morning Glory and a few others I don't know what they are, (smile).

Would anyone have some "Silver Dollar" seeds, (for postage)?

PS: My "name" refers to my having Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy, (I can poke fun at myself, can't I?)

Hey Gimpy, welcome to GardenWeb. You may want to check out the "sticky note" at the beginning of the forum for specifics on etiquette, etc. One isn't supposed to ask for things in exchange for postage here. You can accept such offers (where people offer things for postage), but you can't ask for them and only offer postage. You can always stop by the local big box store and pick up some extra seeds so you can have something to offer for exchange.

You may also want to be specific (botanical names help) about what you are looking for. Silver Dollar, for instance, could refer to various Eucalyptus species, various Lunaria species, Xerosicyos danguyi, or some other plants. It's impossible to know which you are looking for unless you specify.

If you'll specify what you are really looking for and offer something (what is up to you), I'll bet you'll have a good chance of getting what you want.

Sorry for the faux-pas on 'postage', (I thought that saying will send for postage and asking to receive for postage were the same thing).

I'll include the botanical names of seeds/plants from now on, thanks again for the heads-up!

Would you like some iris's to plant?
I can send you the small rhizomes and I will send them to you no charge. I have extra postage stamps from 20 years ago and I send out different places if I like the posting. :-)

You'll find that as long as you are ready and willing to follow the rules, people will be extraordinarily generous. I'm also in your zone. Have you thought about growing a butterfly garden. There are a bunch of us from many different forums who are trying to re-establish the habitat needed by the monarch butterflies! since their numbers have dropped dramatically in recent years. So, we are helping others to plant milkweeds and nectar flowers in as many gardens as we can. If you think you might have room, and the folk who live around you would find it acceptable, I'd be more than happy to send you some seeds for butterfly friendly plants. Let me know.
