WANTED: Ghost Chili Pepper Seeds

Last January, I traded with someone on here for Ghost Chili Pepper Seeds, and they turned out to be Purple SERRANO Seed instead. Needless to say I was very sad.
SO I'll try it again. Hopefully this time I will get some of the correct seed.

Thanks!
zippy

RE: WANTED: Ghost Chili Pepper Seeds

zippy, I believe we did a trade that included Ghost seeds. I grew seeds from the same packet and got ghost peppers, not serranos. I believe I sent you both ghost and anaheim seeds. I hope those are not the ones you're talking about. But if they are...I want to make it right with you.

Here are some pics of the ghost peppers I grew from the same seed I sent you:
Not ripe yet:

had to harvest these due to frost and hung them to ripen:

Please let me know if its the seeds I sent you that you're talking about. I didnt harvest the seeds I sent to you so I cant vouch for them 100% but they DID produce ghost peppers for me.

I want all trades to end on a good note so please share your thoughts. I'd happily send ghost seeds that I harvested myself this year. I also have some things on your 'want list' that I'd be gladly to send.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Nancy

Nancy, those are not ghost peppers. Looks more like a red
habanero.
Zippy I saved some seed from my ghost pepper if you would
like to try them. There is always a possibility of a cross, but
the plant was on the other side of my yard, so I think it will
come true.

This is what they looked like and I could eat them raw. They had some kick, but didn't get me to cry or blow my nose or burn my ears or clean out my sinuses like a Habanero would and I'm sure a Ghost Chili would be worse. Whatever I can have done to get some next year. Could it be that the seeds may revert back to a parent plant? I don't think so cause Ghost Chilies are true to form and heirloom and not hybrid I believe, but then what do I know. I would really love to try the Trinidad 'Scorpion' too.

Here is a link that might be useful: Purple Serrano

RE: WANTED: Ghost Chili Pepper Seeds

This is my first year growing superhots and I'm like you zippy....'what do I know'...haha
Your purple peppers are nice looking. I'm sorry the seeds I shared didnt come true. (for either of us apparently). I dont blame you for being disappointed, I would have been also. I've heard lots of stories on GW about people getting seeds that dont turn out to be what they were supposed to be. I guess I'm just trusting in people.

I did enjoy the whole process: germination, nurturing the lil plants, setting out, hoping for production, etc. I grew the peppers after my son came back from Iraq with a dream of having fresh from-the-garden superhots. How can you refuse a request like that :)

If its ok with you, I'd like to send you some seeds. I will take another look at your wish list and send you an email.
