| Beginning gardener looking for some interesting edibles to grow here in the FL panhandle. I have an indoor setup under t5ho/t8s in my garage to get things started and have near future plans for a small greenhouse as well as aquaponic setup. Currently doing raised beds and pots primarily. Was just wondering if anyone had some cool seeds to get going, stuff that doesn't grace the shelves of the big box anyhow. This will be my first serious growing season utilizing quality compost and actual research/study in the hobby. I'm excited to get my family more sustainable and teach the kids how to grow. I really like the idea of perennial type edibles but am still very new at this so open to suggestions! As far as trade goes, the only mildly interesting thing I have currently is Calamondin seed (Kalamansi) from a plant that has been growing for well over a decade, lived right through a few hard frosts here and there, and still produces (and needs to be trimmed, it's 12+ft tall! Thanks again and glad to be part of the community! |

| We are in the FL panhandle also...well on the AL side of it in zone 8b...is there anything specifically you're looking for?...I haven't updated my trade list...I still have some things that are on my trade list but have traded out others...if you see something on my list just ask and I'll let you know if I still have it...I also have things that I haven't got put on my list yet...again just ask and I'll double check my stash...and if we live close enough we may be able to meet up somewhere instead of spending postage...I'm also still experimenting to see what grows well here...so maybe you can share what grows well for you also :) |
