WANTED: Catalog seeds $5-7??!!!???

| I have been looking at the new seeds catalogs arriving I am shocked at the prices. And the handing charge. If I want to get 2-3 pkts it will cost $22?? What is everyone else doing about this? |

| i have catalogs coming as well. got my 1st one the other day heirloom one. haven't had time to look at it fully though. but i only order things from them that i know i can't get elsewhere. good locuk to you. and Happy New Year :) |

| My neighbor and I go together and share the cost of shipping and handling. I also order from those firms that offer free shipping like Fedco for an order over $30 and WaterSunTogether for over $10. I just refuse to pay more for S&H than I do for the seeds. Trades are also very nice, of course! |

| What catalogs are you looking at? I ordered from Richter's last year. I thought the shipping price was a bit much, but they sent an awesome amount of seeds in each pack. I trade on here and I must be getting mostly old seeds. I'm very disappointed with seed exchange. Nothing much germinates and I know how to grow from seeds. |

| zackey so far getting old seeds has not happened for me so far. For the most part I get a lot more seeds and newer seeds than from any catalogs as well as seeds that do not show up in most catalogs. The cutting exchanges has gone well also even have received cuttings just by giving them my address which has been quite a shock. If you want old seeds there is always go to; http://www.gardenhoard.com/free-sase-seeds.html for the price of 2 stamps on a SASE for 6 packs of your choice. |

| I order from some eBay sellers that offer a flat rate to ship out any amount of seed packs. The cheapest for shipping is $1.99 from one seler and the most I've seen is $2.98. Are we allowed to mention eBay sellers? Just email me ad I'll give you the sellers names. I am definitely checking out fedco. I know this one company called "generic seeds" offers free shipping on orders over $20. |

| I looked at ebay. I want to just order from 1 or 2 catalogs and be done with it. Call me old fashioned, but I prefer looking at the seed catalogs and drooling as to looking online. Richter's charges $6.00 plus some new $2.00 charge that I don't understand. They are in Canada. I love them because they have so many unusual seeds and they send the largest quanity of seeds of any catalog I've ever ordered from. I'm mainly interested in medicinal herbs. I prefer big seeds too, but I've had good luck with thyme and basil. |

| Zackey, check out the HorizonHerbs, a seed company in Oregon. They specialize in medicinal plants but also have other seeds. They send catalogs too as soon as your order, fun to read. Well, some seeds from them might be hard to germinate just because they are such "not easy seeds". Shipping costs and packaging is nice. |

| Thanks gvozdika! I checked out their site. It was pretty cool. I requested a catalog and it came back from mailerdemon. I found their customer service email address and tried again. Thanks for the info!!!!!! |

| Zackey, I'm glad it was useful. They have two catalogs, one for fall/winter and one for spring/summer. The Spring/Summer catalog has more seeds. I believe they are still sending the fall/winter catalog right now. PS. check their Tulsi collection! |

| If you're after pepper seeds specifically, I had great luck with my seeds from Peppermania. They charge a flat rate for shipping too, and I got so many lovely varieties! |

| The seeds from J. L. Hudson are still very reasonably priced, as is the shipping. I don't think they've updated the web site yet, but I just received my 2013 catalog today. |

| I have enjoyed looking at the seed sites that are new to me. Has any one tried Pine Tree Gardens seeds/superseeds.com? They have resonable seed prices if you like their varieties. I have had some germination issues with some seeds though. |

Odd.
I just ordered 15 packs from Baker Seeds (http://rareseeds.com/). One of the best heirloom inventories I've been able to find. My shipping was 3.50. Pretty good. |
