posting pics on your seed trade list

Hi, I thought I'd post a discussion about posting pics on people's seed trading list. Many people use pics from "other" sources to show what the plant looks like. That is ok if you don't have a camera, I guess. I'd almost rather not see a pic at all, though. If I don't know much about that particular seed, looking it up on google or some other search engine is very informative. I think posting a pic from say--a seed company or whatever, takes away from what it actually is going to look like in your yard. They use the very best pic and enhance the color in many of them giving a false representation. I would rather they not post a pic unless it is actually from their yard. What does anybody else think?

I agree that it is nice to see pics of things that were actually grown in one's garden.

I prefer that there not be a lot of pics, or that the size (KB FILE SIZE) be kept small if they are included on one's trade page, being courteous to our members who are still on dial-up. I can sure remember those days.

I prefer instead to link to the pics as I have done on my member trade page. Some are my pics, and others are to sites where the plant is sold, so it includes growing info as well.

The one thing I don't care to see though is links to other gardening forums, as I compare that to going to a Weight Watcher Forum, and pointing members to recipes at a Jenny Craig Forum.

although i don't think folks should post someone else's pictures to their page, a link to that pic is nice; i do like to see what the plant looks like if i'm unfamiliar with it.
