Raising Ducklings in an apartment

Hi all,

I was looking for some advice in regards to five ducklings I acquired after a series of event. I don't know how old they are but I've had them for 1 1/2 weeks and they were hatched and fluffy by the time I received them.

Currently they're living in a box, with the occasional outings to swimming lessons in the bathtub or a romp around my room. They never imprinted on me and in fact they don't seem to like any human contact at all.

I'm feeding them proper duck feed and they have fresh water they can dip their heads in.

So my question is: I can't have them living in my apartment forever. I have a few places they might be able to go (zoo, farm etc) but I don't know how long it will take before they have a new home with a space to run around.

What can I do in the meantime to make sure they grow up happy and healthy? On the same vein I don't want them too domesticated.

And advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I would ASAP find out what breed they are. If they are wild breed of mallard, get them to a waterfoul recovery rehabilitation. If they are a domestic breed take them to a local farm. Do not release them into the wild.
