If you put some dry straw down it would be nice. Goats don't like getting wet, or laying on wet stuff. You might try to put something over the ventilation opening like a cloth or something to keep down on the blowing snow. Goats are very hardy and tolerant of the cold, but they do not like to be wet.

We simply hang an old woolen blanket over any place that snow gets in. If it is a door where access is required, just secure it at the top. Your ventilation hole probably should only be secured on the top and one adjacent side to allow ventilation, but keep the moisture out. Tack the top and the windward side.

Aww! That is such a good idea...ans easy to do as well! I went out this afternoon and blocked the hole with a piece of styrofoam insulation,for the time being. But i will go back and throw a heavy old blanket over it too.(thanks)
I also removed all the wet straw(huge job) then replaced it with dry. their bed area was still dry with the odd droppings here and there but no moisture! So I decided to leave the bedroom alone..but thank you for your replies,I appreciate it.Do goats pee in their beds?? Just curious.

Mine will pee in their indoor enclosure, but they can stand up and move around a lot. If they are in an enclosure where they can't stand they won't just lay there and pee. They have an area in their outside enclosure that is sort of the communal spot where they usually go. They all usually have a favorite corner in the inside area where they like to sleep. They usually don't pee there.

That's good to know,I did check their bedding and didn't see any wet spots from pee. Just some droppings. I did however find their favorite peeing place outside their sleep area!! Got rid of that mess today! Thanks for your help :)
