How much to charge?

I have several egg customers who want some roaster chickens this fall. I really don't know what to charge them. They are heritage breeds who will be about 5 months old at butcher. They are free range and only fed natural grains - no antibiotics or hormones. I take them to a place to be butchered and processed who charges $2.50 per bird. Any suggestions?

First thing you have to know is what does it cost you to raise a bird and have it slaughtered? Then you can determine what profit you want to make. Tom
