ducklings chirping before hatching

How long is normal to hear chirping before the ducklings start breaking out of the egg, we have added damp sponges on day 21 and misted them once a day since day 7, they are not due until saturday, but there has been chirping since wednesday. They are indian runner ducks.

Yay, ducklings! :)

I don't know about ducks, but I typically hear my chickens' eggs peeping about 24 hours before hatch. I'd say you may have a duckling or two hatch out a bit early, which isn't unheard of with incubators. I'm going to start a new batch of eggs in our new incubator tomorrow.

Congrats, and post pics if you can! :)
