Don't know much about the barley, but 2 really nutritious, easy to grow fodder items that your animals will like are Buckwheat and black eyed peas...most other legumes need to be roasted to remove a toxin, but black eyes do not....my chickens love black-eyes!

Thanks for the tip! I will have to try them both! My barley is growing good and the oats are starting to take off too! Oats seem to take a little longer to sprout so I started mixing barley oats and corn. I should be able to give them the first batch Thursday or Friday!
