power outage; fried eggs?

During a power outage my sister took my incubator but I think she fried the eggs. I took them back the next day when power returned but she said they had gotten over 100 degrees for "I don't know how long". Should I dump the whole batch? I do not want to deal with a bunch of sick and dying chicks but am too afraid to crack one open. I am such a softy and my heart is broken since they are only 7 days from hatching. Can I shake the eggs, what would I see if I candled them?

DON'T SHAKE THEM! That will kill the chicks for sure. I'd go ahead and let them incubate the rest of the time, what can you lose?

If the eggs have light-colored shells, you can try and candle them. But I don't know if the chick you would see would be alive or dead, and if you could TELL by candling.

I say give 'em a chance. :)
