Keep pursuing it. It sounds serious. There has to be someone who can check the water quality. Try to find out what chemicals were put on or in the pond. Easy to over dose. You want to get a scientific sample into a pure bottle. Clean pure bottles for such purpose can be obtained from your health department for testing water. Of course the pond should be checked for depth also not just the surface. call up the local universities to come and check the pond. Purdue, Indiana U. etc. They will have the capability but not sure what department. Maybe all the departments. the right professor might pursue the issue.

Keep a notebook and mark down times and dates. Careful notes will be necessary if this goes to court.

Just because one person says NO, does not mean that a different person will not jump on this and say YES.

This is why everyone is dieing of cancer. Because we keep dumping poison into the environment and expect things to live better. what a laugh.

Thanks for the reply gardendawgie. As it turned out, part of the goose families walked to another smaller pond a few blocks away. We spotted them on our walk last night. This afternoon the wayward group wandered back to our lake. It was a wonderful sight watching them reconnect with those left behind. Something must have really spooked them to make them split up like that. The adult goose that drowned must have been taken down by a large turtle or it was entangled in something below the surface. I know that sometimes birds are killed by chemicals and I was afraid that the sprayer might have gone to other lakes with the same toxic mix. Thank goodness my concern was unnecessary.
