One of our almost mature (most of his feathers)ducklings had a LARGE black beetle stuck on his tongue. The size of his bill.DH tried to remove it and its claws were dug into the tongue sides. He finally got it off and the duckling had a bit of blood from the encounter.Was this the wrong thing to do? Sometimes I feel like Green Acres here but this was new to us. We wondered if this is how nature intended they eat it or was the duck in need of assistance?
