my goats LOUD!

My new baby pygmy,as of saturday,has been on and off yelling like there's no tomorrow. She has 2 companions with her,,1 year older,but she still hollars more often than not. Is there a solution to this,or will she eventually stop? HELP!!@#@!

She might be calling for her mom. Give her some extra attention and time. Make sure the others aren't picking on her, especially during feeding time.

Thanks for the article,,very helpful. Yes,The other 2 are chasing her and butt her once in a while..but other times they're fine,,grazing beside eachother,,but the young one keeps her distance from them right now. I seperate them at night when they go inside but they can still see eachother. I hope it improves.

Is there any chance that you could get one more goat, the same age as the new goat? That way she will have her own buddy.
My goats seem to pair off even within the herd. You have three so you have the odd goat out.

no,I don't have that option...I'm hoping for the best.
today they all seem pretty content inside..and the new one hasn't been yelling! so...fingers crossed!!

well last night I brought baby back to the farm I got her from..now she's happy with her mom and sisters again. I couldn't stand how sad she was,,they were really ganging up on her and I didn't want to take a chance..oh well,it's ok with only 2..they're happy to have the place to themselves,,,

I went through the same thing when we brought home a new little 6month Oberhasli. The herd matriarch wasn't happy and butted her constantly. I would go sit with her for a while each day and she would stick close. Now she is a year and a half old and she gets along very well with our matriarch. They have their times but its just the pecking order that has to take place to be happy later on. In our case it took time for the problem to sort itself out.

I sure hope this does not mean you are back to the idea of a pot belly pig. LOL!!

I am sorry that it did not work out for you. Maybe you will be able to get a different one and it will work out.

Haha! NO,no pig either! They would FREAK OUT if I brought them a pig!! Now I know they're happy as is so I won't try to get anything else. like the old saying..If it ain't broke,don't fix it...xx thanks everyone for your help through this
