OK, it's a digestion question. You can read what happened on my blog (below). Will it pass?

I think it will pass eventually in the feces, for the chickens sake.

Imagine cracking an egg open to find apearl...kinda like a clamshell? lol.

Hope you find your pearl.

RE: Casting pearls before chickens

Being a chicken lady myself, I got a chuckle out of it and thought how typical. I found out really quickly never to wear open-toe sandals into a hen house. A hundred hens going for the pink toenails in unison is exquisitely painful with they tiny, sharp beaks.

In a serious vein, if a pearl ever did go through a crop and gut, it won't come out looking like it did going in, since the nacre is fragile and sort of organic. It's be like putting a (cover your hen's ears) chicken bone in a cup of vinegar.

I have had parrots try to pull the diamond out of my rings and from my ears too. Birds love flashy stuff. Cute blog.
