our ducks and chickens roam the yard, and we've never had problems. we do make sure to have everyone thats around them wash their hands when they come back inside.

Cool,,thanks,is your yard relatively clean? I know the rain ect washes it down,but I;m wondering how messy it will be over time..My dog does clean up a lot!! (gross!!)

I wouldn't put a large flock of ducks in a small yard, but one or two would be easy to live with. We had 40 in our yard and they made a horrendous mess on the back porch.

oh I can imagine that mess!! LOL I only have the 4 of them...2 muscovies and 2 pekins...I am building a run today around their house for days where I want them confined,and for safety now that the fox are hunting more.

my yard stays fairly clean, but that may be because its mostly covered in pine needles.

and my dog does do a little cleanup too =)!

Mine run free, and appreciate it too.
They will attract in dogs.
Your kid will pick on them when you look away.
They will crap all over spots where you walk frequently.
I still think it's a good idea, just be warned of the risks.
