Thanks for letting us know.

I'd call first because not all the stores have them out yet...

Hey ya'll,
I buy some from Walgreens and Big Lots every year. They are a great bargin. Some of the zinnia I planted last year where five feet tall. Good luck with your gardens.

The 10 for a $1 are good if you want to try something that you have never grown vegetable or flower. The packs have a small amount of seeds, just the right amount to try. I hate paying $3+ for a package then find out I hate the plant and are stuck with bunches of seedlings/seeds that no one wants. This way a new gardener can try the basics and then expand next year.

just returned from walmart with 20 pks for $2.00.
I got larkspur, 2 kinds zinnia, 4 o'clocks, violas, alyssum, bachelor's button, pansy, sunflowers, morning glories, squash, spinach, cilantro.

What a deal. Some I will winter sow next weekend.

DH and I went to Big Lots the other day for the first time, to see if they had batteries for my cordless mouse. They did. But what I was thrilled with was the huge seed display. Some of the seeds were 10 cents a pkt, others were more. I bought Grandpa Otts, and Heavenly Blue morning glory, cosmos, and dill. I plan to go back this morning for more. Thank you guys for having mentioned this before. I was thrilled to see the display just as we went in the door.

I want to get some zinnias, cleome, yellow 4 oclocks, and herbs and whatever else looks like it will do well here in tropical zone 10 se FL. 10 cents a packet is GREAT!!!

I wish there was a Big Lots near me! Best deal I've seen is Ace Hardware (MA, RI, NH), 5/$1 veggies and flower seeds.

Does MA have Big Lots?

Leftycatcher--
I just went shopping at Walmart in southern MA and they had tons of 10/$1 seed packets out, I was able to get just about everything I needed (veggies, flowers and herbs alike). The only thing I wanted that wasn't available was borage :( Anyway, you should go look!

This week Long's has 10 for $1. Haven't been there yet, and I don't need more seeds...

I've had really good luck with inexpensive seeds. Several years ago I bought some .10 seed packets of alyssum, bachelor buttons, zinnias, marigolds, nigella, sweet williams and others and the germination rate was quite high.
In fact, I am still getting flowers from seeds from the originals.

Ooh, Big Lots, eh? My mother LOVES this store but she's never mentioned seed packets. I'll have to check out my local store.

Went to the local Rite-Aid (old Eckerd's) and got my 10 cent packets. A small selection, but basic. Sometimes all you need are the basics.

Nice thing is, that is everyday price!

Hooray--Walgreen's finally has not only seed packets, but a coupon for 10/$1!

My local Odd Lots still has no seeds at all.

And 5/$1

Ooh, and Ace Hardware has an ad (no coupon needed) for 5 seed packets for $1.
