of a retired businessman...who managed quite well for our retirement but wanna guess how I spent my afternoon...or an hour or so of it..Picking up cow patties from my neighbors pasture...yes I could have gone and bought some manure but this was cheap ...as in free...and it's the real stuff...I love freebies...

Manure....goood..... Free...better!
Your garden's going to thank you in the spring.
I used to work at one of the top horse stables in the country and they used the horse manure in the fields where we grew our own hay.

I got such a chuckle out of this one. Reminded me of a time when I lived in the city & a friend was going to visit his folks in the country. He asked if he could bring me anything & said "You bet! A few nice dried Vitamin "S" patties!" He looked puzzled 'til I explained, and he brought a dozen or so.

My plants loved the "cow chip tea."

I'm recycleing catalogs and magazines to package the seeds that I harvested-people might be offended, but in time-a tree is saved. The plastic bags,great-I'm just more realistic. If you have any advice for me-oldickfam@logical.net

Horses makee road apples, cows make cow chips, cow pies when fresh. I recently found out llamas make...LLAMA BEANS! (Which, BTW I happen to have a free source of:-))

Wender, I think your idea for seed envelopes is a good one. How do you keep the tinier seeds from sticking to the tape? Or do you glue? They could look quite attractive if you chose your images on the paper to work for you too!
