I was just at WM and I noticed a seed-starting set up that had tray, clear lid and was it jiffy pellets or cell packs? I can't remember. BUT for 29.99 It came wtih a plug-in SEEDLING HEATER MAT!! Try and find a seedling heating mat for under $30 as it is. I am sure it isn't a very big one, but enough for one flat anyway.

I bought the flats but didn't see one with a heating mat.

Must have different stuff up here in Canada. You have stuff that we don't and vice versa. For example, Ever tried 'Dill Pickle' flavored chips? They're great.

It's jiffy pellets...they don't sell the one with the heating mat down here. But then it's 80 degrees this week, so they don't need to.

I went in Walmart the other day....and got bags of peat moss and composted cow manure for 50 to 75 % off because they were last years' bags. Too, they had last years' five gallon buckets for 50 cents, so I bought some to make self-watering containers for my tomatoes. Pays to scope out the garden centers early in the morning with my shopping buddy (my two year old son).

You are teaching your son a very valuable thing here: Shopping as a SPORT. (She SCORES!!!)

I haven't seen the heater mats in my neck of the woods but I did find some good bargains in the clearance dept today. I got plastic plant markers for 50cents, gardening gloves for 75, and plastic mulch sheets for $2.

I think I just saw a mendards ad for this item for $19.99, nand that 17% bag deal is still good today too.
