wasteful pet peeves, continued

| My biggest wasteful pet peeves are 1. why isn't there someone with the job of finding the best price for the product in each government department? We all get to pay for overpriced crap. Also, a friend of mine under DOE rules told me they got expensive new tools every year and threw out TONS(!!!) of metal that could be scrapped because they needed to spend their budget. 2. why do we have to still deal with planned obsolecense? With our environment as it is, why don't we put the creodonts who insist on producing products that go bad so soon(autos come to mind)out of business? Why aren't autos made with fixing them in mind anymore? I have seen a number of types built these days that make even simple maintence chores hard to do. 3. how many doctors do you have to see to get your problem properly diagnosed? Do we all have just any day to take off work to do this? I had to see 9 doctors for a problem I had and eventually diagnosed myself. None of them sent me to a specialist, even though they didn't get rid of the problem or know what it was. 4. why do jobs have to work a few people 70 hours a week instead of hiring the right number of people to do the work? So some people get to be used up and other people get to starve. This one is one that REALLY needs to be changed. Our waste of people is just plain wrong. 5.Stupid laws, like the one here where people who pee in public get a sex offender charge. Do we want to pay for this-so homeless people go to jail with a bugus charge, and we don't have jail space for the real ones? Has anyone checked out what it costs to put people in jail these days? 6.why don't we stop giving the rich so many tax breaks? Why help people who don't need any? It is time we saw some of these people as being spiritually sick. So, I can go on. What are your pet peeves in the wasteful world? I don't mean what your neighbor does so much as the stuff we all put up with. |

| You need to make this post in the conversations side, since it doesn't apply to frugal gardening in any way. If you just want to rant about government, cars, doctors, laws and employers it's perfectly OK to do so, but only in the other side. Please read the rules of posting and confine your posts on this side to gardening subjects. Cheryl |
