Potatoes

Hi,
Just bought 5 pounds of potato sets, Yukon Gold. Curious as to what an "average" yield would be. I know a lot depends on conditions, soil, weather, etc. Any comments would be appreciated, especially from northern growers.
Thanks

RE: Potatoes

I haven't grown Yukon Gold for years, but if I remember right, I think I got about 6:1 yield.

I am Z5 Michigan. My soil is somewhat improved clay. I get about 5:1 from yukons if I keep them watered and the potato bug populations down. Helps me alot to mulch my hills with newspaper and then straw. I plant about 20 lbs of potato sets annually.
