| Sure do! I used oriental bittersweet vines but any overgrown large vines will do. Grab decking screws and a hand saw and then a basin of some type. I used a plant saucer. The birds go mad for it. Note* if you use terra cotta don't use a heater for the winter it will crack the edges!
Have fun, Keilamarie |

Keilamarie, That is great! I can make a variation using cedar and vines. Thanks for posting the photo! rosebush |

| Here's one I made several years ago from a large terracotta plant saucer and a salvaged piece of terracotta chimney flue.
I did a mosaic compass rose pattern in this one, but I have others where I use plain saucers. Becky |

| I made one that sets close to the ground on bricks. What I did just cost me 1 bag of cement. I dug a hole in the ground, shaped it to what I kind of liked it to look like (keep in mind a lavatory sink shape) , cut back the top edge (dirt) some so would have a ledge and poured the cement in short stages, shaping/molding it as I went. I let sit in the hole curing for a lttle over a week before diggng it up, didn't reinforce the cement at all and this has been such a favorite with the birds for well over ten years... It goes through the winters just fine and I really like it. Cost me about $3.00 to make. Just remember if you try this, dig deep enough for the cement but leave the bowl only four inches at the deepest, mine is about 2 feet around on top... I used to have a branch in the middle sticking up for birds to perch on but my nieces dog took care of it.. LOL The edge even encourages the hummers to bathe there. |

| I bought a piece of what the rockery called "Columbia column" -- columnic basalt. It's about a foot high and a foot wide and has a natural, shallow saucer in the top. I think it cost me $10. Someday I'd like to have someone drill a hole straight up through it so I can have a bubbler in the basin part of it :) Kristin |
