Picket fence on the cheap!

DD and I built this fence during the weekend. He had many, many pieces of wood that he got for free from work and he cut them into pieces that are about 2 inches wide to make the pickets. I went to Home Depot to buy the rest of the lumber (2x4's and 1x2's) and screws. I think the whole thing cost me only about $45.00. Seemed like a good deal to me considering that one 8 foot panel of fence at HD costs about $20.00. Anyway, needs a gate (which DD is building) and some paint, but I think it looks good so far. Will post more pics when it's done...

Copperlilac, I love it, I love it, I love it!!! That's the fence I want around our raised veggie beds!!! My DH and FIL are always bringing home scrap lumber from work. My FIL just brought me a pile of skids and I made a huge 3 bin compost bin. What color are you gonna paint your fence? Nancy |

| Thanks seedbandito! Well, I was going to paint it a light purple or lavender because I was inspired by another GW member's pretty purple fence but I'm not sure. I might just paint it an antique white and let my youngins "decorate" it for me. Not sure yet. :) |
