 o
granite 'coffin' as art sculpture

I needed an accent item for a new bed 35'x7 because it has only 5 different kinds of plants, mostly green hosta. I was thinking of a large log, but as a birthday present from my DS who is always broke, he made a 5 sided box, 5'x8" from the granite store where he works. The brown/red granite was to be thrown out. It looks like a skinny coffin coming out of the ground, but I still like it. I hope no one tries to walk on it, because the soil/compost/wood chips have not settled and it is not leveled flat on the cement blocks, so I placed a football size rock on it to keep people off. And I didn't even have to bring it home and do it. All this from a kid who would 'duck down' when I would gleam something from the trash.
