Local mason was doing some work on a driveway and front entrance.
I stopped and asked if I could haul all the leftover concrete and stone away. He said 'Yes" I went back to pick it up with my husbands leather gloves, ( I am a 44 year old female with a 4 door car) he had it loaded in the truck and ready to drop in my driveway. I so excited to see he would drop it off!
I never expected the Belgian block and new brick that was in the pile to be part of the deal. But now I have about 40 belgian block and 20 or so new bricks.
What I will do with it I dont have a clue.
I merely wanted the old concrete to fill a giant eroding hole in my yard. What treasure I found!

| We removed an in-ground swimming pool last summer and used the concrete chunks to make a great looking raised bed. We flipped the concrete over to expose the rough rocks, then planted sedum in-between the concrete. My neighbors thought that it was flag stone. It looks great. |

| We had an overgrown oak tree taken down and the guy had one of those huge grinders that chops the wood and shoots it into the back of the truck. SO I asked him if he would let me have the wood chips and he was thrilled. He has to pay a $35 dumping fee for wood so he deducted that much off my bill and I got a years worth of free mulch. That was a good deal. Cheryl |
