 o
spray for houseplant leaves??

Hi fellow recyclers & DIY-ers,
I hope this isn't off topic since it pertains to houseplants. I saw a high priced spray once to clean and make leaves look shiny but didn't think to look at the ingredients to see if I might be able to concoct my own spray. Does anyone have a "recipe" for something like this? Is it a good idea? or does it "leaf" a residue that could harm leaves...??? thanks for any input, Lynnie

I've heard of using vinigar or lemon juice but I haven't tried either.

mom wipes just the top surface of the leaves with a little bit of mayonnaise on a rag. It makes them look good. But don't wipe the bottoms, the plant has to breathe.

Do go to the houseplants forum and ask. I wouldn't suggest using anything with oil or that would propagate bacteria(i.e. mayonnaise, milk, things like that) because that stuff can cause all kinds of problems.
