What are you propagating now and how?

I am wondering who is propagating what and how as the fall and winter season comes to us. Anyone got rootings started, transplants, or cuttings to plant and get ready for planting in the Spring?

For instance, I have Pencil Bush cut, hardened off and ready to put into smaller pots. Also have mint that I have split off and some hydrangea cuttings rooting.

This is one of the most frugal things that I can think of.

Anyone else out there making good use of the fall to propagate your stuff?

Ive rooted a couple coleus that I snipped at the park.

six or so geraniums found when I was out leaf collecting and Im experimenting with those.

two begonia plants that I also found and am experimenting with.

a hydrangea (I think) from a flower arrangement we received

I have a bunch of jasmine seedlings under lights, ready to move out to new homes. As far as cuttings, I have some beautiful pink variegated African violet leaves under lights, along with variegated hydrangea and rosemary. I'm saving the bulk of my space for dormant fig cuttings in January. Later, I'll also try some Glauca rose cuttings. I was tempted to root some Lakeview jasmine cuttings when I trimmed it down to bring indoors but I didn't, as I have the large trees in my house and they're blooming now!

I think I'll need to bring this thread back up when we have more hours of sunlight. It's getting dark at 3:30 PM now here near the 49th parallel - even on a sunny afternoon (precious few of those :o(.

I've got a couple of broadleaf thyme starts in a West window and the plumaria seems to be settling in after 1 plant was turned into 3 about 6 weeks ago.

There are lots of herbs that will be propagated but not until there's a hint of longer days on the way.

I have tender fuschia cuttings that have rooted and three elderberry bushes that I've rooted as well. :)

Being in FL, I'm doing a lot, as this is our growing season. I've been taking a lot of coleus cuttings, because they are starting to get a big ratty looking. I'm going to be starting some brugmansia cuttings as well, and will try one more time to get an iochroma to root. I'm going to try to get a few hibiscus cuttings as well.

I'm planting hardy hibiscus and datura seed that will come up in the spring. I find, especially with the datura, that if I winter sow them I get a better germination rate.

I've also been digging and potting some volunteer seedlings and root sprouts. I dug up a cherries jubilee allamanda last spring, and it just keeps coming up from the roots, so I just keep potting them up and giving them away!

In January, I'll be planting veggies.

I am still making cuttings and trying to root for the spring. I now have Homestead Verbena (lots of it), varigated hibiscus, and am about to make cuttings of cream and a yellow angel trumpet. Am dividing orchids and just doubling my capacity in the garden.

What's going on with you guys?

I am getting ready for my Winter Sowing. This will be my 4th winter sowing seeds. It's the cheapest way to grow a lot of plants and most successful propagation for me. There is no expensive indoor set up involved. Everything is sown indoors, but left out in the cold. No fuss, no worry. If you are interested in growing from seeds, please check out this forum.
