Use for propane tank

Recycling center will not take old metal propane tank from a recycled pop-up trailer camper. Not allowed to put in trash either.

Any suggestions of how this could be reused in the garden...decoratively? Has anyone cut one in half for flower planters? I thought I might cut the top off and fill with gravel and use as a base weight for a movable scarecrow.

Check out this video. The guy in it made a hot tub, but look at the propane bottle, it made a nice wood-burning stove.

You could take it to one of the propane exchanged places and just leave it if you want to get rid of it. A company that sells propane by the pound/gallon might take it.
