Hello. A couple years ago, I had a pomegranate cutting I was trying to root that I had just stuck in the ground. Around this time of year, I went outside to find it had been pruned. I was very upset and just thought my anal neighbor was checking to see if it was alive.

I was recently walking the yard and passed by a new raspberry plant I put in the ground at the end of this summer. SAME EXACT PRUNING. I had also put a plum cutting in the ground and it too was chopped off about 3" above the ground.

Definitely not my neighbor. It's a very sharp cut, on a 45 degree angle, nearly identical from plant to plant. No chewing, and the top of the plant is laying right there. What is doing this? I've tried searching and can't find any answers.
