Three peach trees in one hole on 18" centers. From left to right: 'Desert Gold', 'Babcock' & 'August Pride'. These are eight year old trees purchased at Costco on unspecified vigorous roots. I grafted AP on top of 'Flordaking' a while back as DG out performed it here and I didn't need two May peaches. The bands around the trunks are for tanglefoot to keep ants/aphids off in early spring.

Nice job Mrclint. Your trees are a good example of how the inner branches have been pruned away and also how low the scaffolds come off the trunk. Perfect for the backyard as long as there are no deer about. I keep my trees higher for deer protection. Scott

Thanks, Scott! Yeah, if you don't prune for a somewhat open center, you'll never get into the inner workings of the trees. They are all pretty well-behaved now. No deer here, but some raccoons have moved into the neighborhood.

Looks great! I have Desert Gold on a 3-1 tree. Truly an awesome peach....

melikeeatplants, 'Desert Gold' gets dissed on this board from time to time, but it is an outstanding early peach in my locale. Nice size, color, scent, taste, etc. Glad to hear that it does nicely in No Cal as well. Your climate is probably not too different from mine.
