Apple grafting to increase disease resistance

I have 2 apple trees, Enterprise and Liberty, which I selected primarily for disease resistance. I will be grafting some branches over to other varieties, which leads to me to wonder...

It's reported rootstock selection can impart some disease resistance on scions, so can some resistance be imparted on branches from a tree? I don't imagine a grafted branch will be granted scab immunity, but perhaps some added resistance to fireblight or CAR is possible?

I'm mostly grafting on other disease resistant varieties for a longer harvest season and different flavors, so it's mostly a matter of curiosity.

Thanks for you input!
