Hi Guys!
I'm very interested in amalanchier. I read on the net, that is possible to graft them on to apple, or pear. Is it possible?
I also read this thing with aronia berry. Is it possible with aronia?
Best Regards!

RE: Amelanchier grafting

Have a friend in Canada who had been using Amelanchier as an understock for apples - just a trial to see if it would confer any additional cold-hardiness or dwarfing. Have not seen a report from him in years, so I don't know how -or if - it worked.
Seems like I've seen claims that some of the named Amelanchier cultivars coming from some nurseries are grafted onto Crataegus understock - which I know from experience is also compatible with some pear and quince varieties.
