Yup that's what I also heard from a list from CRFG. My tree is five years old and it sets poorly and the fruit cracks. I am growing seedlings of FK now and graft them back into the tree. Mine is planted along a tree line and blooms with the peaches. I'll call the cross 'Flavorhaven'.

Flavor Queen has a lower patent number than FK when is it going off patent?

FQ has been off patent since 2009.

I grafted a few FQ branches in my tree last season so I might get a taste in the summer. I haven't seen Flavor Queen in any new nursery catalogs. It is probably another fussy to produce pluot. My Dapple Dandy tree seems to grow like a regular plum on steroids here on Long Island. Nurseries might sell this one after the patent expires.

I appreciate the offer. I have an FK planted between Burgundy & Beauty plum trees in a hedgerow. The hope is that the tree will set fruit in keeping with its plum partners this year. To date the FK fruit set has been lighter than expected -- but the fruit has been of very high-quality.

Dapple Dandy has been a very pleasant surprise. Outstanding quality and fruit set. The way it holds on the tree in the blazing sun is truly amazing.

Can any one tell me if dapple dandy will be off patent next year? I really like that one.

DD comes off patent in Nov 2014.
