dwarf plum recomendation request

Hello Everyone,

I am new to gardening, and I would like to plant two or three small plums trees in my south facing backyard. I live in a zone 4-5 area of Canada (Montreal, Quebec). I would appreciate any recommendations for specific varieties that would be hardy here. I am not picky (lol) about the fruit, but would like to be able to eat it off the tree.

Gala,
You'll want to consider American japanese hybrids in your cold. Bubblegum, superior, and early varieties. For small tree rootstock, Krymsk1 would be ideal. Contact your local agricultural extension people and see what they're doing as that will help you decide.

Mount Royal (purple European plum, good fresh, as jam, or dried for prunes) is hardy to zone 3.
