Peach tree canker ?

Hello is this peach tree canker or some other type of damage. The tree has always been healthy but this fall I noticed scarring at the base of the tree. I got a puppy last summer and she did do some chewing on other trees maybe she got to this one too?

Not canker, yes that puppy scars, take about 2 years to heal up completely..

Thanks Gator, thatÃ¢ÂÂs what I was hoping, but I just wasnÃ¢ÂÂt sure if it could be disease, or a borer. I did get peach twig borer for the first time this year on three of my peaches, but they only effected the new green growth. WasnÃ¢ÂÂt sure if twig borer or another borer could have been responsible.
