Dormant spraying in San Diego

Hello, I've always been a little scared of dormant spraying, have never done it, and was wondering if someone can guide me a little.

I have pluots, a couple of peaches, and an apple. All of the trees are about 3-5 years old. Most of the trees have dropped all of their leaves.

I am planning on buying horticultural oil and spraying in the next week or two. Then I am going to use Liqui-cop in about a month or so, when the buds are starting to swell.

Is this a correct way of doing things? Anything else I should be doing? Should I be doing the same for my citrus trees as well or are they totally different as far as treatment?

Have the Peach trees ever had Leaf Curl?I'm not sure if horticultural oil will protect against it.Most people use a Copper spray.I use a product containing Chlorothalonil. Brady

Never had leaf curl before. It was my understanding that the horticultural oil was for insects and pests. Is that wrong?

No,it's not wrong,but Peach Leaf Curl is a common malady.
I also use the Chlorothalonil spray (Bonide's Fung-onil) on my Plums and Pluots.It's a multi-purpose fungicide.However,it is not an organic product.
I just looked at some info about Liqui-cop and at least one person reports they were having success against PLC with it.I'll have to check it out further. Brady

According to the Liqui-cop literature,it should be applied after the leaves fall,for PLC.That's when I spray and also around February 1st and once more about three weeks later.
Your days warm up quicker than mine,so I'd spray now and again before the buds swell.If it gets past that time,it will probably be too late. Brady
