Irrigating Fruit Trees

chezron

I have a line of young fruit trees, mostly stone fruits, probably 10 trees spaced 6-8 feet apart. I had been watering them with soaker hoses, but they waste water and the hoses don't last. Do you have any suggestions on how I should set up a watering system for them? I thought of maybe inserting emitters at each tree location, but is that sufficient? If I do that how many emitters can you place on a line and still have ample water pressure for the end tree?
If i do set this up how often should I water and for how long?
