"Hallman transplanted a row of six pomegranate trees along the west wall of his home to create effective solar protection. âÂÂPomegranates grow naturally as large shrubs or small trees, so their root systems are not as invasive as most landscape trees,â he says. âÂÂPlant them at least 4 feet from your home, and roots shouldnâÂÂt interfere with the foundation.âÂÂ"

It should be no problem. Prune the plant back about 1/3rd then dig it up and get as much of the root system as you can. I move two that way and they both survived.
