Yes and it doesn't look good for quite some time. Looks very warm out there the next few weeks. They better hope to God the pattern changes (right now its ridging out west/troughing in the east).

As a kind of tangent, I am concerned about the amount of commercial fruits and vegetables we depend on from CA. They are the number one producer of practically all vegetables and most fruits. And not just barely #1, but #1 by a huge margin.

It's true CA can grow fruits and veggies the most cheaply and organically, but water is a big deal. As Mike points out, the security of our fruit and vegetable rests largely with California. Growing food in a dessert has it's disadvantages. As a nation, I'm not sure it's wise to rely on CA for such a large percentage of fruit and vegetable staples.
