How to find out when a tree is available to the public

I am in love with the Ambrosia apple but it appears it isn't for sale and I am trying to find out how to know when it will be if it does come available for sale to the home gardener in the US. Anyone have any idea who to contact or where to look?

I believe it is available in Canada at Port Kell's Nursery.

A friend of mine has Ambrosia. He got it from his father who grafted it to Bud 9. Not sure where/how the scionwood came from.

The fruit looks and tastes like te ambrosia apples available
sometimes sometimes at our local supermarket but is difficult to grow. My friend is cutting his tree down as
it is very prone to scab. When nearby varieties are clean, the Ambrosia is bad with scab. He does spray
Captan but never seems to get a clean crop with Ambrosia.

The fruit is too sweet for me. It does seem to bear well on Bud 9.

I hope I'm not hijacking but I'd also like to know about Jazz. I buy a bag a week from Sam's Club.

Jazz is a club variety which means all the growers signed a contract to not distribute it; its also patented. Someday it will leak out but not yet that I know of.
