Just finishing up with my 2015 orders. This has to be a record! I made two orders from honeyberry, first for some carmine jewel and crimssion passions second for juliette cherrys that will come in the fall. Ordered romeos from henryfields. Ordered brianna grape and swensens red from double a vinyard. Ordered somerset grape from stark bros. Too bad walmart doesnt have everything i need, 50 bucks is more than i was hoping to spend on s&H it will be worth it tho.

can anyone beat this? Ha

I've trying to cut back and still have 6 orders for next year. My spreadsheet shows 57 orders in the last 6 years, from 27 different nurseries. Each year I think- "Wow, my yard really is full now."

-Romeo from Henry Fields
-Jujubes (including 25 rootstocks and some scionwood, not all for me) from Roger Meyers
-9 Tree order from Bay Laurel
-3 tree order from Arboreum
-5 tree order from Cummins (smallest order in 5 years- before this year, I averaged 14)
-Some summer raspberries and black currants from Indiana Berry

most places ordered from in a year probably was in the 30-40 range, but this year probably will be more like 15, though not just fruit, other trees, plants, and seeds.

bob_z6, how do you water your trees? Any soaker hose?

With any dry spell, it is a lot of work to water like 100 fruit trees with garden hose.

I generally try and get the majority of anything I order from a single vendor. Some specialty items from others frequently when they are sole source willing to sell retail online. Makes it easier even though I end up with 2-3 dozen trees at once. Predig holes and it goes reasonably fast. Obviously regional nurseries stock items more likely to do well in my area.

RedSun, during the first year or two I used quite a few soaker hoses. But, the setup and care was a pain in the rear end, so I've not used them in the last few years. I just mulch everything with wood-chips, then go around with a hose every week or so during hot dry periods. It doesn't work so well for potted plants, but in-ground stuff seems OK, at least in this climate.

Irrigation and deer have been big problems for me. So I limit the number of trees I grow.

I already made most of my purchase the past fall. Have spots for a couple of trees. No hurry any time.
