Au Cherry Plum

Has anyone planted an Au Cherry Plum? It is some type of Methley cross and is supposed to be more disease resistant. I am wondering about its cold hardiness and if it will pollinate anything that a Methley would pollinate.

RE: Au Cherry Plum

I planted AU Cherry last year. No fruit yet. I believe it is at least partially self fertile, but should cross pollinate with any other Japanese plum. Coldest this year here was -4, and as far as I know it is fine. Disease resistance should be excellent, taste is still TBD.

Those were put out by Auburn University ( hence the "AU" in the name), andt hey are very disease resistant, prolific, and long-lived. They will pollinate all other plums blooming at the same time. AU Roadside, and Rubrum are two others they offer--ALL are really great plums, with good flavor and production histories.
