| I think I'm a tad late to be trying to grow from seeds but I'd like to try anyways. Does anyone have a source for seeds? I don't really have a favorite cultivar but it does need to do well in zone 8(b). Tasting good is always a good quality too :) I've checked Amazon and they have the Duke variety, but my understanding is they don't taste well and are primarily used for baking. I've searched around a bit but it's hard to say who's reputable and blueberries are hard enough to grow from seed as it is ya know? |

| Can't imagine why anyone - other than a fruit breeder - would attempt to grow blueberries from seed. Amazon would not be my go-to source for blueberries - or any other fruit - but maybe I'm just an ol' dinosaur. Check out reputable fruit/berry nurseries, like: Simmons Berry Farm, Finch Blueberry Nursery, Nourse Nursery, deGrandhamps Nursery, etc. You can buy nice well-rooted 2-3 year old plants, of a variety of cultivars, very inexpensively. Zone 8 - I'd expect the rabbiteye and Southern highbush types will be best for you. Others will be along shortly to make recommendations of specific varieties... |
